Through our apprenticeship programme there are a number of opportunities including working with a nursery or crèche, in a school supporting teachers, or in an after-school/holiday club.
Springboard Bromley offers apprenticeships and advanced apprenticeship in childcare. If you are aged 16-24, the training we provide is free. If you are aged 25 upwards, please get in touch for prices.
What do Apprenticeships involve?
Apprenticeships are all about developing key skills, gaining expertise and working towards an accredited qualification while employed and earning a salary.
To complete an apprenticeship you will need to be employed in a work placement that relates to the qualification you are studying. You will be paid a salary by your employer for the duration of your Apprenticeship. Note that to work in childcare you will need to undertake a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check.
You will attend Springboard Bromley for regular training days. Your training assessor will agree your particular pattern of attendance with you during your apprenticeship you will complete an NVQ (Level 2 or 3), and functional skills, including Maths, English and IT. Childcare Apprenticeships (NVQ Level 2) take 12 months. Advanced apprenticeships (NVQ Level 3) typically take up to 24 months.
