Basic skills in construction

Springboard Bromley offers short courses in different construction trades.

Our City & Guilds Multi Craft course is available to learners young people aged 16-18 years via our Foundation Learning programme.

What does my course involve?

  • Painting and decorating
  • Carpentry and joinery
  • Plumbing

During the course, learners develop a number of different skills. These could include fixing a skirting, hanging an internal door, copper pipe bending and jointing, use of plastic materials for plumbing, stripping and preparing an area to wallpaper, preparing and painting a wooden window.

How many days will I need to attend?

Typically you will attend Springboard Bromley 3 days a week. 2 days will be spent working towards the City & Guilds course with 1 day learning day learning Key/Basic Skills which include English, Maths and IT.

How long will the course take?

 Approximately 25 weeks.

What can I do after I finish this course?

Learners can progress onto further education or employment. If you are interested in plumbing we can refer you onto another training provider for further training or on to an apprenticeship programme.
